ਸੁਰੱਖਿਆ ਅਧਿਕਾਰੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਡਰੱਗਸ, ਹਥਿਆਰ ਤੇ ਗੋਲਾ ਬਾਰੂਦ ਡਿਗਾਉਣ ਵਿਚ ਡ੍ਰੋਨ ਦਾ ਸਰਹੱਦ ਪਾਰ ਤੋਂ ਇਸਤੇਮਾਲ ਸੁਰੱਖਿਆ ਏਜੰਸੀਆਂ ਲਈ ਵੱਡੀ ਚੁਣੌਤੀ ਹੈ। ਨਸ਼ੀਲੇ ਪਦਾਰਥਾਂ, ਹਥਿਆਰਾਂ ਤੇ ਗੋਲਾ ਬਾਰੂਦ ਦੀ ਤਸਕਰੀ ਵਿਚ ਡ੍ਰੋਨ ਦੇ ਇਸਤੇਮਾਲ ਦਾ ਮਾਮਲਾ ਪਹਿਲੀ ਵਾਰ 2019 ਵਿਚ ਸਾਮਹਣੇ ਆਇਆ ਸੀ।
ਅਧਿਕਾਰੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਸੀਮਾ ਸੁਰੱਖਿਆ ਬਲ ਨੇ ਇਸ ਸਾਲ 10 ਡ੍ਰੋਨ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਰ ਗਿਰਾਇਆ ਹੈ। ਇਸ ਤੋਂ ਇਲਾਵਾ ਕਈ ਵਾਰ ਡ੍ਰੋਨ ਦੀ ਘੁਸਪੈਠ ਨੂੰ ਅਸਫਲ ਕੀਤਾ। ਬੀਐੱਸਐੱਫ 553 ਕਿਲੋਮੀਟਰ ਦੀ ਸਰਹੱਦ ਦੀ ਰੱਖਿਆ ਵਿਚ ਤਾਇਨਾਤ ਹੈ। ਬੀਐੱਸਐਫ ਦੇ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਫਰੰਟੀਅਰ ਦੇ ਇਕ ਸੀਨੀਅਰ ਅਧਿਕਾਰੀ ਨੇ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਕਿ ਹੁਣ ਤਆਕ 150 ਤੋਂ ਵਧ ਡ੍ਰੋਨ ਗਤੀਵਿਧੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਦੇਖਿਆ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ।
