Innocent Hearts College of Education, Jalandhar organized Mehandi design and Nail art competitions as Karwa chauth festival is around the corner. These competitions were organized on the theme of ‘Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat’ with the aim to revive the symbolic traditional designs to showcase the rich cultural heritage and customs of various states for enabling the students to appreciate and understand India’s diversity, thus fostering a sense of shared identity. The students-teachers made symbolic designs of mehandi art form on each other’s palms. They made pairs and enjoyed the creative activity of nail art by painting, decorating, enhancing and embellishing nails.
The power of an Indian woman, her beauty, simplicity, grace were all glorified with the traditional art form of Heena design applications. Sonam, Kandla and Medhavi achieved first position, Pragya and Pooja achieved second position, Enna and Gurpreet bagged third position in Mehandi design competition. Prity achieved first position in nail art competition. Principal Dr. Arjinder Singh congratulated the winners and encouraged the participants by giving certificates to all of them.
