Innocent Hearts organised a Special Awareness Session on ,’How to Stay Away from Drugs’ and ‘Social Media Traps’ by  Punjab Police

Under the ‘Disha – An Initiative’ campaign run by Bowry Memorial Educational and Medical Trust, a special awareness program on drug prevention was organized at Innocent Hearts Green Model Town. The session was conducted by Sh.Gagandeep Singh Ghumman (PPS), Mr Ajaib Singh (SHO Model Town), and  Ms. Twinkle ( Sub- Inspector). They sensitized students about the harsh realities of drug abuse and the negative impacts of social media. The aim of the session was to prevent students from falling into the trap of addiction and to encourage them to remain safe, healthy, and responsible citizens. Sh. Ghumman explained that drug addiction often begins with small activities, which later turn into life-threatening habits. It not only harms one’s health but also ruins the future. He advised students to remain vigilant, especially while traveling to and from school, and to never accept food or drinks from strangers. He educated the students about identifying drug use, recognizing its symptoms, and the ways to recover from it. He also shared how drug sellers often approach young people through social media and other platforms. He urged students to report any suspicious individual or activity to the police immediately. Assuring full support from the police, he emphasized that they are always there to help and resolve issues — students just need to reach out. In case of any emergency, students were asked to dial helpline numbers 112 and 1930. The students actively participated by asking questions, which were answered effectively and clearly by the police officers. The session visibly instilled awareness and alertness among the students regarding the issue. Sh. Ghumman also  appealed to all students to stay away from drugs to secure their future and also motivate their peers to do the same. He encouraged them to inform their parents or the police immediately if they see any friend falling into this trap. He reassured that the police department is always ready and committed to ensuring the safety and well-being of the youth.
At the end, Principal Mr. Rajeev Paliwal, Deputy Director of Cultural Affairs Mrs. Sharmila Nakra, and Vice Principal Mr. Amit thanked the chief guest and special guests, honoring them with mementos as a token of gratitude.Innocent Hearts organised a Special Awareness Session on ,’How to Stay Away from Drugs’ and ‘Social Media Traps’ by  Punjab Police
