जो रास्ते हिंद-पाक युद्ध के समय और आतंकवाद के दौर में 24 घंटे खुले रहते थे, उन्हें सेना के सशक्तिकरण के दौर में बंद करना मजबूत डिफेंस के दावे का उपहास उड़ाता है – राम सहदेव

लोकल मिलिट्री अथारटी द्वारा कैंटोनमेंट बोर्ड की बैठक में कैंट के 8 रास्तों को बंद करने का प्रस्ताव रखा गया था, जिसका सिविल सदस्य पुनीत भारती शुक्ला ने पुरजोर विरोध किया था। इसी मुद्दे पर पुनीत शुक्ला ने कैंट व आसपास गांवों के निवासीयों के साथ एक बैठक की। बैठक में सड़के बंद करने के प्रस्ताव पर आपत्तियां दर्ज करवाने के लिए चर्चा की गई।
पुनीत भारती शुक्ला ने उपस्थित लोगों से गुजारिश की कि इस मामले पर ज्यादा से ज्यादा आपत्तियां दर्ज करें व अन्य लोगों को भी जागरूक करें। प्रिंसिपल सुभाष अरोड़ा ने आपत्ति पत्र तैयार कर वितरित किया, जिसमें उन्होंने सभी सड़कों को क्यों नहीं बंद किया जाना चाहिए, उसके बारे में बताया। उन्होंने 21 मई 2018 को सेना मुख्यालय एवम् रक्षा मंत्रालय द्वारा भेजे गए पत्र एवं जनरल बिपिन रावत द्वारा दिए गए बयान पर टिप्पणी करते हुए कहा कि लोकल मिलिट्री अथॉरिटी अपने मंत्रालय व मुख्यालय के आदेशों की अवहेलना कर रही है।
सिटीजन वैलफेयर एसोसिएशन के राम सहदेव ने कहा कि लोकल मिलिट्री अथॉरिटी ने जो रास्ते गैर कानूनी तौर पर बंद किए हुए हैं, उन्हें पक्के तौर पर जनता से छीनने के लिए कानून का पालन करने का दिखावा कर रहे हैं। उन्होंने कहा कि जो रास्ते हिंदुस्तान-पाकिस्तान युद्ध के समय और आतंकवाद के दौर में 24 घंटे खुले रहते थे, वह आज सेना के सशक्तिकरण के दौर में बंद किए जाते हैं जोकि प्रधानमंत्री व रक्षा मंत्रालय द्वारा मजबूत डिफेंस के दावे का उपहास उड़ाता है।
वहां उपस्थित लोगों ने बंद रास्तों के कारण आ रही कठिनाइयां व समस्याएं बताई, जिन पर पुनीत भारती शुक्ला ने वहां उपस्थित कानून के जानकारों को आपत्ति पत्र तैयार करने को कहा। पुनीत भारती शुक्ला ने आग्रह किया कि सभी छावनी निवासी व आसपास के इलाका निवासी बढ़-चढ़कर इस अभियान में भाग लें व बड़ी संख्या में अपने आपत्ति पत्र कैंटोनमेंट बोर्ड में जमा करवाएं। गौरतलब है कि बंद रास्तों के मुद्दे पर आपत्ति पत्र देने की आखिरी तारीख 20 नवंबर 2022 है।
