Jalandhar/ SS Chahal
A convention of bar leaders was held at Bagha Purana organised by Bar Associations Moga, Bagha Purana and Nihal Singh Wala in order to discuss the various problems faced by bar associations across punjab and to form a committee that will work on it.
I was given the honor to represent lady advocates and Jalandhar Bar association in the meeting.
In my speech i discussed about the importance of hygenic santitation in Judicial complexes in Punjab specially for lady advocates which was granted as a matter of right to everyone in the year 1995 by the honorable supreme court in the case of Virendra Gaur vs State of Haryana, How maternity benefits to woman advocates are a must and provosions for virtual hearing in those months should be provided, i also discussed how it is important to have horizontal representation of woman in bar associations and bar council as women are still underrepresented in our profession.
In the end i was given the opportunity and was selected as the woman representative in a committee which was formed in the meeting to work for the welfare and needs of all the bars across punjab in order to put up matters before the authorised authorities.
