ਪੌਂਗ ਡੈਮ ਅਥਾਰਿਟੀ ਨੇ ਚਿਤਾਵਨੀ ਜਾਰੀ ਕਰਦੇ ਹੋਏ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਕਿ ਡੈਮ ਵਿਚ 20 ਅਗਸਤ 2022 ਨੂੰ ਦੁਪਹਿਰ 1 ਵਜੇ ਤੱਕ 422267 ਕਿਊਸਿਕ ਪਾਣੀ ਆ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਡੈਮ ਵਿਚ ਪਾਣੀ ਦਾ ਪੱਧਰ 1372.33 ‘ਤੇ ਪਹੁੰਚ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ । ਡੈਮ ਵਿਚ ਲਗਾਤਾਰ ਆ ਰਹੇ ਜ਼ਿਆਦਾ ਪਾਣੀ ਕਾਰਨ ਡੈਮ ਦੀ ਸੁਰੱਖਿਆ ਨੂੰ ਮੁੱਖ ਰੱਖਦੇ ਹੋਏ ਪੌਂਗ ਡੈਮ ਅਥਾਰਿਟੀ ਵਲੋਂ ਵਾਧੂ ਪਾਣੀ ਸ਼ਾਹ ਨਹਿਰ ਬੈਰਾਜ ਵਿਚ ਛੱਡਿਆ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ, ਜਿੱਥੋਂ ਇਹ ਪਾਣੀ ਅੱਗੇ ਬਿਆਸ ਦਰਿਆ ਵਿਚ ਛੱਡਿਆ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ। ਇਸ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਬਿਆਸ ਦਰਿਆ ‘ਚ ਪਾਣੀ ਦਾ ਪੱਧਰ ਵੱਧ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ। ਪੌਂਗ ਡੈਮ ਅਥਾਰਿਟੀ ਵਲੋਂ ਜਾਰੀ ਚਿਤਾਵਨੀ ਨੂੰ ਰੱਖਦੇ ਹੋਏ ਡਿਪਟੀ ਕਮਿਸ਼ਨਰ ਗੁਰਦਾਸਪੁਰ ਮੁਹੰਮਦ ਇਸ਼ਫਾਕ ਨੇ ਦਰਿਆ ਨਜ਼ਦੀਕ ਵਸੋਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਗਾਹ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਪਾਣੀ ਦੀ ਮਾਰ ਵਿਚ ਆਉਂਦੇ ਨੀਵੇਂ ਇਲਾਕਿਆਂ ਵਿਚ ਨਾ ਜਾਣ
