Apeejay Education- The District Culture and Literary Society and INTACH (Indian National Trust for Art and Culture Heritage) jointly organised a 3 day Art Exhibition – Creative Expressions by Kids and Teens: The Future of India on the occasion of AzadiKaMahotsav for the school children to encourage the budding artists from 17th to 19th August 2022 at Dr. Stya Paul Art gallery. On this occasion, Mr. Jaspreet Singh, IAS, Deputy Commissioner of Jalandhar was the Chief Guest of the day. Dr. Sucharita Sharma ( Pro Vice Chancellor, ApeejayStya University; Director, Apeejay Education Society; Senior Education Advisor, RajeshwariSangeet Academy Trust), Dr. NeerjaDhingra ( Principal, Apeejay College of Fine Arts, Jalandhar) and Major General Balwinder Singh (Vice Chairman , VirsaVihar) warmy welcomed him, He inaugurated the exhibition and also looked at the art created by the young budding artists.
Addressing the gathering, Mr. Jaspreet Singh, IAS said that art is the direct manifestation of human emotions and also it is the mirror of the culture and heritage of a country. He added, India is magnanimously rich when it comes to art and the artists. Be it any form of art and our country is full of them. Also, we cannot help but feel proud that we belong to the nation that has rich gharanas when it comes to music and this is the factor that distinguishes us from the rest of the world.
Dr. SucharitaSharama expressing her views, on this occasion, said that Dr.Stya Paul Art gallery always values and cherishes the artists and exhibitions of national and international stature are often organised here exhibitions here but it is the first time that we had invited school children to showcase their talent. In this exhibition, the students of Cambridge International, HMV Collegiate Sr. Sec. School, Akal Academy Dhawal Kalan, Police DAV Public School, Apejay School, Mahavir Marg, Model Town, Rama Mandi, Swami SantDass Public School, CT Public School, Mayr World School, MGN Public School, Cambridge Phase 1, Sanskriti KMV School, Army Public School, Dayanand Model School had participated and exhibited their talent through art.
Dr. Sunit Kaur had formally welcomed and thanked the Chief guest and the august gathering for making the opening day successful. The Music and Dance department of Apeejay College of Fine Arts Jalandhar awed the gathering with their patriotic songs and dance performance. Dr. NeerjaDhingra thanked Mr. Jaspreet Singh, IAS, Dr. SucharitaSharma, Major General Balwinder Singh, Mrs. Sarita Tiwari and the college staff for making the event successful.
