ਸੁਪਰੀਮ ਕੋਰਟ ਨੇ ਕੇਂਦਰ ਸਰਕਾਰ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਦੋ ਸਿੱਖ ਵਕੀਲਾਂ ਦੀ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਅਤੇ ਹਰਿਆਣਾ ਹਾਈ ਕੋਰਟ ਦੇ ਜੱਜਾਂ ਵਜੋਂ ਨਿਯੁਕਤੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਕੀਤੀ ਜਾ ਰਹੀ ਦੇਰੀ ’ਤੇ ਚਿੰਤਾ ਪ੍ਰਗਟਾਈ ਹੈ। ਦਰਅਸਲ, ਸੁਪਰੀਮ ਕੋਰਟ ਕੌਲਿਜੀਅਮ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਹਾਈ ਕੋਰਟ ਦੇ ਜੱਜਾਂ ਵਜੋਂ ਐਡਵੋਕੇਟ ਹਰਮੀਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਗਰੇਵਾਲ ਅਤੇ ਦੀਪਇੰਦਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਨਲਵਾ ਸਮੇਤ 5 ਨਾਂ ਭੇਜੇ ਗਏ ਸਨ। ਜਦਕਿ ਬਾਕੀ ਤਿੰਨ ਨੂੰ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਮਾਮਲਿਆਂ ‘ਚ ਬਰੀ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ।
ਅਦਾਲਤ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਪਿਛਲੀ ਸੁਣਵਾਈ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਸਰਕਾਰ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੀਆਂ ਚਿੰਤਾਵਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਜਾਣੂ ਕਰਵਾਉਣ ਦੇ ਬਾਵਜੂਦ ਕਈ ਸਿਫ਼ਾਰਸ਼ਾਂ ਅਜੇ ਵੀ ਪੈਂਡਿੰਗ ਹਨ। ਸਿਫ਼ਾਰਸ਼ ਨੂੰ ਅੰਸ਼ਕ ਤੌਰ ‘ਤੇ ਸਵੀਕਾਰ ਕਰਨਾ ਜੱਜਾਂ ਦੀ ਸੀਨੀਆਰਤਾ ਨੂੰ ਵਿਗਾੜਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਚੰਗੇ ਵਕੀਲਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਜੱਜ ਦੇ ਅਹੁਦੇ ਨੂੰ ਸਵੀਕਾਰ ਕਰਨ ਤੋਂ ਨਿਰਾਸ਼ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਸੁਪਰੀਮ ਕੋਰਟ ਕਾਲੇਜੀਅਮ ਨੇ 17 ਅਕਤੂਬਰ ਨੂੰ ਗਰੇਵਾਲ, ਨਲਵਾ ਅਤੇ ਤਿੰਨ ਹੋਰ ਵਕੀਲਾਂ ਸੁਮਿਤ ਗੋਇਲ, ਸੁਦੀਪਤੀ ਸ਼ਰਮਾ ਅਤੇ ਕੀਰਤੀ ਸਿੰਘ ਦੀ ਨਿਯੁਕਤੀ ਲਈ ਸਿਫ਼ਾਰਸ਼ ਕੀਤੀ ਸੀ। ਕੇਂਦਰ ਸਰਕਾਰ ਨੇ 2 ਨਵੰਬਰ ਨੂੰ ਇਸ ਸੂਚੀ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਸਿਰਫ਼ ਤਿੰਨ ਵਕੀਲਾਂ ਸੁਮਿਤ ਗੋਇਲ, ਸੁਦੀਪਤੀ ਸ਼ਰਮਾ ਅਤੇ ਕੀਰਤੀ ਸਿੰਘ ਦੀ ਨਿਯੁਕਤੀ ਨੂੰ ਮਨਜ਼ੂਰੀ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਸੀ ਜਿਸ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਗਰੇਵਾਲ ਅਤੇ ਨਲਵਾ ਦੀ ਨਿਯੁਕਤੀ ਲਟਕਦੀ ਰਹੀ।
