ओडिशा की काम्या मिश्रा ने अपने पहले ही प्रयास में यूपीएससी (संघ लोक सेवा आयोग) परीक्षा पास कर दूसरों के लिए एक मिसाल कायम की है। बहुत ही कम उम्मीदवार ऐसे होते हैं, जो पहल ही प्रयास में यूपीएससी की कठिन परीक्षा का पास कर लेते हैं।

ओडिशा की रहने वाली काम्या बचपन से ही होनहार छात्रा रही हैं। कक्षा 12वीं की परीक्षा में उन्होंने 98.6% मार्क्स हासिल किए थे। जिसमें वह रीजनल टॉपर बनी थीं।
बता दें, काम्या मिश्रा ने अपनी प्रारंभिक शिक्षा ओडिशा के केआईआईटी इंटरनेशनल स्कूल से ही है और इसके बाद, उन्होंने दिल्ली यूनिवर्सिटी के लेडी श्री राम कॉलेज से पॉलिटिकल साइंस में ग्रेजुएशन की डिग्री ली। कॉलेज के थर्ड ईयर में उन्होंने फैसला लिया कि वह यूपीएससी की तैयारी करेंगी। जिसके बाद उन्होंन तैयारी शुरू कर दी।
काम्या मिश्रा के लिए ये सफर आसान नहीं था, वह जानती थी यूपीएससी की तैयारी मुश्किल है और बिना प्लानिंग के इसकी तैयारी करना सही नहीं होगा। उन्होंने तैयारी के लिए एक रणनीति बनाई और तय किया कि किस विषय को कितना समय देना है। प्रीलिम्म, मेंस और इंटरव्यू के लिए उन्होंने अलग अलग से रणनीति बनाई थी। उन्होंने मेंस के लिए आंसर राइटिंग की भी खूब प्रैक्टिस की थी। उनका मानना है कि बिना प्रैक्टिस के किसी भी परीक्षा का क्लियर नहीं किया जा सकता है।
काम्या मिश्रा ने साल 2019 में पहली बार यूपीएससी की परीक्षा दी थी और अपने पहले प्रयास में 172वीं रैंक के साथ इस परीक्षा में सफलता हासिल की। उन्होंने 22 साल की उम्र में भारतीय पुलिस सेवा (IPS) का पद हासिल किया था। IPS की ट्रेनिंग पूरी होने के बाद उन्हें शुरुआत में हिमाचल कैडर अलॉट किया गया था, बाद में उनका ट्रांसफर बिहार कैडर के लिए कर दिया गया था।
